Senior Services
The goal of the Comprehensive Senior Service Program is to
provide a group of services to needy area elderly in order to promote
independence and the physical and emotional well-being of seniors, and to
prevent premature institutionalization of the elderly.
·
Case management and
assessment: Professional social
work personnel identify and evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, problems, and
needs of seniors. They are then linked to appropriate resources through
our agency and others for referrals. We can assist in completing forms such as
the Home Energy Assistance, Homestead Exemption, and Golden Buckeye Cards.
·
Transportation service:
The agencies vehicles transport groups of seniors to local grocery stores,
banks, discount stores and day trips within
·
Friendly visiting &
Telephone reassurance:
Volunteers visit with homebound neighborhood seniors. Volunteers also call on a
regular basis to ensure that the needs of seniors are being met.
·
Homemaking:
This program is designed to improve and maintain a safe home environment through
light housekeeping and weekly tasks. Dusting, vacuuming, washing dishes,
changing linens and assisting with laundry and errands are all done to aid
seniors who are unable to do these chores alone.
·
Health Services &
Education: A variety of
educational and medical services are offered to area seniors. Flu immunizations,
blood pressure checks, podiatric screenings, glucose checks and managed care
